Your Scars Don’t Disqualify You—They Prepare You

If God only used the flawless, the Bible would be a pamphlet.

For a long time, I believed my past disqualified me. The trauma I endured. The shame I carried. The things I said and did when I was drowning in pain—I thought all of it made me unfit to lead or speak or be used by God.

But I was wrong.

God never asked for perfection. He asked for surrender.

Look at Paul—he was a murderer before he became a missionary. Peter denied Christ three times, and Jesus still called him the rock on which He’d build His church. (Matthew 16:18-19)

We think our scars are signs of weakness. But to someone else, they’re proof that healing is possible.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” – Revelation 12:11

Your story, flaws and all, is a weapon. Your testimony is someone else’s lifeline.
This is one of the truths that kept me moving forward on the long road I talk about in my book Miles of Faith. The road where your pain doesn't end you, it equips you.

Application:
This week, share a piece of your story. Even just one line. Someone’s waiting for the kind of hope your scars can offer. Don’t silence what God has redeemed.
